Adoption Process

HOW TO ADOPT?

The process of adoption seeks to unite the love of a child with that of loving parents who are able to offer the child the right to enjoy a stable family and to ensure their physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. Thus, adoption is about being able to give adoptive parents the possibility of enjoying a family who have not been able to conceive.

The conditions adoptive parents must meet are the following:

Ensuring a suitable and stable home for the child. La Casa de la Madre y el Niño through its Adoption Committee, meets weekly, discusses the social studies and adoption application for each family. It could be that even though a family complies with all the requirements their application may not be processed because there might not be enough children for the numerous applications we receive.

  • Regarding age: Being more than twenty-five years of age, or at least fifteen years older than the adoptable child.

    • Children 0 to 2 years (35 months) families between 25 and 38 years
    • Children 3 to 4 years (36 months to 59 months) families between 39 and 41 years
    • Children 5 to 6 years (60 months to 83 months) families between 42 and 44 years
    • Children 7 and older (from 84 months) families 45 years or more.
    • There should be an age difference greater than 38 years between the adoptive family and child.
